Doug Swenson began his study of yoga in 1969. He has had the fortune of studying with many great teachers including Dr. Ernest Wood, K. Pattabhi Jois, Ramanand Patel and many others. Doug is a master yoga practitioner, philosopher, poet and dedicated health advocate. He has incorporated influences from several different yoga systems along with his passion for nutrition and the environment to develop his unique approach. Over the years he has authored several books; "Yoga Helps", "The Diet That Loves You Most", "Power Yoga for Dummies" and "Mastering The Secrets of Yoga Flow". He travels extensively offering workshops, retreats and teacher training courses around the world. Don't miss the opportunity to study with one of the world's top instructors. Doug's classes are always invigorating and inspirational and his supportive style of teaching and keen sense of humor send his students home with a smile on their face and a softness within their heart.
Friday Sept. 30th 5:00-7:30pm "Vinyasa Yoga- cross '(balancing strength and softness) beginner- advanced
This first class starts with Dougs unique approach to powerful Ashtanga Yoga then shifts gears into a challenging yet soft form yoga format. Followed with pranayama and deep relaxation.
DAY 2
Saturday Oct. 1st, 9:00-12:00pm
Sadhana Yoga Chi (Fluid Power) - (Beginner to Advanced)
A very soothing arrangement of soft and hard yoga asanas, connected together with mostly light (non - muscle resistance vinyasa) and some challenging (muscles resistance vinyasa). You will enjoy the challenge, achieve a variety of new poses and move with fluid power. When finished, drift into a blissful deep relaxation followed by a guided meditation.
12-3:00 PM - OPEN to Eat, Sauna, meditate, hike, canoe, kayak, play frisbe golf, or just hangout on the beautiful grounds of Grey Wolf Lodge. Massage available for extra $.
3:00pm-5:30 Mastering the Secrets of Yoga Flow – (Beginner – Advanced)
The main focus of this class is centered around the fluid movements of soft and hard form vinyasa and how to expand this philosophy to create flow in your daily life – a variety of yoga postures – both easy and challenging will be used. Explanation will be made as to how the fluid energy lines of vinyasa in your yoga practice can affect your daily life in a positive way. A connection is made to help create a flow in your diet, at work in relationships and throughout your daily life.
All who are not staying overnight at the lodge are welcome to relax on the grounds of Grey Wolf Lodge Sat. evening to use the Sauna, or get a massage untill dusk....

Sunday Oct 2nd

Ashtanga Vinyasa – 1st Level Asana Routine – with some extra spice added (At least – one year exp - with yoga posturing)
This class is a gentle introduction to Doug’s own unique Fluid approach to Ashtanga Yoga. This is based on first level Ashtanga Yoga Format. Class includes yoga adjustments and pranayama. All level; welcome.
Things to do at Grey Wolf Lodge
The yoga studio and lodge will be open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The Studio is available between classes for students who want to practice and meditate on their own. There is also a sauna in the building or you can schedule a massage, during your free time.
Outdoor activities are plentiful. The grounds and the surrounding area are great for running, hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and playing a game of volleyball, Mini-golf, or Frisbee-golf.
The lodge will also be open for people to gather, hang out and play pool, foosball or pinball, watch TV (an idea), and use the wireless internet. In the evening you can sit around the bonfire or cook yourself a gourmet meal on the grill and relax as you gaze at the brilliant northern stars….

About The Instructor
Sat Nam Kaur (Carol Carlson) is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher since 1990 who has been practicing many styles of yoga since the early 1980’s. She studied and taught yoga daily for 18 years in NYC; Teaching at yoga studios, health clubs, businesses (Scholastic), privately and at “Kundalini Yoga East” until 2000. Although Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is her base, she practices and blends other yoga styles. Carol practiced for years at the Jivamukti Yoga Studio in NY, and continues practicing Ashtanga, Power, Iyengar, and Bikram styles of yoga.
My classes are a blend of a strong physical practice, equaled with focus on breath pranayama, & meditation to renew the body open the mind and experience our spirit. Kundalini meets Vinyasa flow if you will. All Carol’s classes have intention. We work to our capacity on strength & flexibility; we work on purification techniques as well as open your horizons to a broader perspective. Each class will leave you balanced, at peace and inspired.
